What can you see near the cliffs of Carolles?

Normandy has a knack for combining lush green landscapes, exceptional sea views, charming seaside towns and major historic monuments. Here are three ideas for your next trip!

Three visits less than an hour from the cliffs of Carolles

The Vallée du Lude, 5 minutes away

A protected and unspoilt site, the Vallée du Lude is a wild valley nestling between two high cliffs. The GR223 runs alongside the Carolles cliffs, offering superb views over the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel.

Continue your walk to the Cabane Vauban, a small house built of granite and shale facing the sea.

Jullouville 10 minutes away

Jullouville is a charming seaside town with Belle-Époque villas and beach huts. You can enjoy sailing at the Club de Voile de Jullouville.

The town is also renowned for its long family beach, almost 2 kilometres long, dotted with restaurants offering stunning sea views.

Mont Saint-Michel 45 minutes away

France's second-biggest tourist destination after Paris, with 3 million visitors every year, Mont Saint-Michel is a medieval abbey set on a rocky islet linked to the mainland by a 760m-long footbridge.

Every year, the bay of Mont Saint-Michel vibrates to the rhythm of the highest tides in Western Europe. This is when the Mont becomes an island once again. During your visit, be sure to explore the interior of the abbey.

You can also try the famous Mère Poulard omelette.
