The treasures of the village of Saint-Jean-le-Thomas

For the record, Eisenhower stayed in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas from August 19 to September 29, 1944. He will remember from his stay in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas : "From Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, we discover on of the most beautiful panoramas in the world"

He occupied the villa "Montgomery" with the English lieutenant-colonel James Gault, of the Scottish guard who represented Marshal Montgomerywith Eisenhower and Kay Summersby, his faithful secretary, who acted as driver of the general. A commemorative plaque is affixed to the villa and another at the crossroads.

Its owner and coach have made Saint-Jean-le-Thomas known on every continent! Aged one year in 1975, the young horse makes his first steps on the beach, facing the Mont-Saint-Michel. It is then housed at the Dunes stud farm in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, from 1975 to 1983. This small horse then forged one of the finest international trot chars between 1979 and 1983. He won 2 american prices in January 1983.

With its 450 year-round inhabitants, 500 houses and summer residents, Saint-Jean-le-Thomas remain a small resort that was able to develop during the sea-bath era in the 1930s, which is a pleasure for families, cyclists and hikers who want to enjoy a quiet break in the Bay of the Mont-Saint-Michel.

The Hotel des Bains has been run since 1913 by our family, Gautier-Turmel, so we will be delighted yo tell you the story of our hotel and the resort.

Among the must-see events of our destination, you will certainly hear about the annual Mimosa Festival, held in February.

You can enjoy the market that is held every Sunday morning in season.

A beach club is open from July 10 to August 18 on Saint-Michel beach.
For families, the Municipality recruits 2 animators each year in July and August, and welcomes children from 4 to 12 years old. Open from Monday to Friday, from 2:15 p.m to 5:30 p.m.
Afternoon rate: 3.50€ per child

Ideal for families on holidays in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, find every day in summer until August 28 on the Saint-Michel beach, from 3:30 p.m to 7:00 p.m: a carrousel, a playground and a beach bar for the small hollow.
